It's Sunday, and I have to go back to work tomorrow after 10 relaxing days off! But happily I think this has been the most productive work break in a while!
On Friday, just for funsies I whipped up a new dress so I could have something to wear to my first day back at work tomorrow. Something to help ease back into the work week that was fun and easy that I knew would fit without any problems, and here she is Simplicity 7436!
I have sewn from this pattern before so I knew I'd love the fit. My Bliss of Mrs Blossom dress was made from this pattern and its still one of my absolute favourites!
The fabric was bought off Etsy while I was in one of my paisley buying obsessions. I think I still need more - paisley is a gorgeous fabric!
I don't know if it's genuine sixties fabric, but that's OK. From a distance the pattern sadly drains out and you cant really see the fine colours and details that this fabric includes.
Hopefully pairing with green, maroon, light blue or even purple tights might bring out the colours a bit more
I am actually in the middle of a more time consuming project - McCalls 8939. A matching dress and coat, of which I have finished the dress part - as you can see below!
I may be avoiding making the coat by doing little quick projects... but you know coats are hard! And I'm worried I'll screw it up somehow!
So I figure I should build up my confidence with little project first right? I dunno if that's a good excuse, but I'll get to that coat I promise!
What did you get up to this weekend? Any projects your trying to avoid by sewing other more pretty things? I know I am!
Take care lovely ones!
